دارينُ زرتُكِ والهواءُ عليلُ
يتعهّدُ الأغصانَ حينَ تميلُ

من بعدِ طُولِ تنقُّلٍ بسفينةٍ
يبدو كحلمٍ شَطُّكِ المأمولُ

نرسو على برٍّ كقطعةِ جنةٍ
ما دون سهلِكِ ، والضفافُ نجولُ

برمالِكِ الذهبيةِ امتزج السنا
تلهو مياه البحرِ حين تسيلُ

عند التلالِ نرى المراكبَ في المدى
تلك التخومُ معالمٌ ودليلُ

بين البساتينِ التي مِن حولِنا
في حُسنها للعابرينَ سبيلُ

تتناثرُ الأطيابُ في جَنَباتِها
بَلَحٌ رطيبٌ يشتهيهِ عليلُ

نرمي بأجسادٍ تعاقبها العَنا
ويحفُّ جوٌّ ناعمٌ وظليلُ

ويمرُّ نوخذةُ السفينةِ ضاحكاً
هذي الحياةُ ، تمدُّدٌ ونخيلُ

اليومَ نترُكُكُم لراحةِ بالِكم
وغداً بجوف البحرِ سوف نصولُ



* دارين : جزيرة بالقرب من شاطئ الإحساء كان البحارة يأوون إليها للراحة والإسترخاء

The Island (Dareen)

I visited you when the weather was fair,
Tending the twigs, bending with air,

Roaming the sea, we hoped to reach,
Your peaceful shores, a dream-like beach,

We anchor there near a true paradise,
Where plains invite, and grass entice,

Splendor prevails the golden sand,

Tongues of sea water flow inland,

Beyond hills we see ships far away,
The boundaries guide us all the way,

Amid the orchards that surround,

Beauty is a pleasure so close to be found,

The sweet fruits scatter all uphill,
Juicy ripe dates desired by the ill,

Our worn-out bodies we hope to soothe,
The weather so shady, cool, and smooth,

The captain passes us and laughs as a treat,
This is real life, stretching our feet,

We leave you today, blithe and carefree,
Tomorrow in the middle of the sea we shall be.

* Dareen: An island near the beach of Ihsaa' where sailors used to harbor for rest and relaxation.
